CELLAR DOOR PUBLISHING RELEASES MINISTER JADE TRAILER
Portland, OR (July 3, 2008) Cellar Door Publishing has announced the release of the trailer for Minister Jade, their latest graphic novel that shipped to comic book stores and online retailers this week. Steve Bialik, the writer and illustrator for Minister Jade, has described the book as “a superhero story set in ancient China.” But Cellar Door’s publisher, Jade Dodge (who swears the similarity the title shares with her name to be purely coincidental), feels there’s much more to it than that.
Minister Jade is an awe-inspiring book,” stated Dodge. “It has action, drama, suspense, humor. It truly has something for everyone. The story is beautifully written and the artwork is simply breath-taking.”

Cellar Door Publishing Submissions Go Green
Portland, OR (April 4, 2007) Earlier today, Cellar Door Publishing, publisher of graphic novels and illustrated literature, announced a major change affecting submissions. This change makes use of technology and innovation to address a rising global concern.
“We receive a large number of submissions every month,” said Cellar Door publisher Jade Dodge. “Each submission uses a great deal of paper. During our three years in operation, I’ve become increasingly aware of how our submissions policy was impacting the environment. I realized it would be irresponsible for us not to do our part.”
Thanks to increased media attention on these issues from films like Al Gore’s Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, leaders in every industry are pursuing creative new ways of addressing global warming and diminishing natural resources. Cellar Door Publishing has joined this growing list of environmentally responsible companies.
“Environmental responsibility is a priority at Cellar Door,” stated Dodge. “It all comes down to one thing: sustainability. One of our goals, as a company, is to become 100% sustainable. This online submissions system is the first major step toward that goal.”
The new policy changes the way in which submissions are reviewed. It replaces the previous policy, wherein submissions were sent through the mail. Now, those interested in submitting can simply go to the Cellar Door website and fill out the online form. While Cellar Door no longer accepts unsolicited submissions through the mail, those who would prefer to submit a traditional hardcopy proposal can still do so at conventions where Cellar Door is exhibiting.
“Yes, this is a bit unorthodox, but many things we consider to be norms and traditions were unorthodox at one point in time. Our hope for the future is that this becomes a norm in the publishing industry.”
